1st race [Md Sp Wt, 5 ½ F] – (4) Street Sue (A) set the pace and finished second in her debut well clear of a strong field at 7-1. (5) Prince of Broadway was third in her first career start for Brad Cox at 3-1. (1) Ella Grace will make her debut for George Weaver who has had plenty of success with young horses. (2) Louezza shows some fast workouts at Delaware Park and a veteran trainer sees fit to ship up to New York.
4th race [Alw 50000s, 1 mi] – (2) Mr. Papagiorgio made a big improvement in his second start of the year when he was second in a similar spot last month earning a speed figure that clearly tops this field. (3) Houlton was a winner of a N2L claimer in April and makes his first start since getting taken for $40,000, (5) Big Gain won his last two starts moving from a N2L to N3L and was claimed both times. (1) Ragazzo Diabolico was second then then third in recent starter allowances.
7th race [OC50k/SAL50k, 7F] – (1) Work Away broke her maiden by almost 10 lengths in her second start for a $50,000 tag for Linda Rice as the even-money favorite. (4) She’s Complicated was claimed from her last two races including a $30,000 maiden and then for the $50,000 option from a race where two of the top finishers went on to win their next starts. (3) Feasible comes back in two weeks having just run in an allowance at Saratoga. (5) That’s Funny won a maiden claimer in May while dropping in for a tag and was claimed.
8th race [OC 50k/N1X, 1 3/8 mi TURF] – (6) Bobby Jean (A) was second the whole race in her turf debut finishing behind an impressive winner in a starter allowance while clear of the rest of the field. (5) Alimara has a win and a pair of thirds this year for Chad Brown. The blinkers come off after a one race experiment. (3) Tour Jete had two wins on the turf last fall and had a prep race to start 2025 after her race came off the grass. (4) Good Lightning returns to the turf which seems to be her best surface.
Best bets: Mr. Papagiorgio (4th); Work Away (7th). Best value: Street Sue (1st); Bobby Jean (8th).
