1st race [Clm 50000B, 1 mi] – (5) Toned Up (A) lost all chance when he was checked back to last at the break in an allowance. (3) Geez Eloise was claimed in April at Oaklawn Park after winning the N2L condition for a $35,000 tag and then tried an allowance with a $200,000 purse. (6) Beira finished in the top three in her last five starts including a win last time in a $30,000 N2L claimer. (4) I’m Buzzy has a second in this condition in March and enters with nine career victories using the claiming option.
2nd race [Md 20000, 7F] – (4) Stirred Up (A) went eight-wide, had the lead, and finished second just a length behind. (5) Yolo was claimed for $50,000 by Brad Cox following a four month layoff after racing eight-wide. (3) Kyle’s Mom had the lead and ended up second in April after running third in her debut 11 days earlier. (7) La Dinamita has three second-place finishes in a row including last month when just a nose behind. The Blinkers come off.
10th race [NY, Alw 81000 N1X, 6F TURF] – (3) Perugia (A) broke last which was a disadvantage for a horse that is typically a presser and he still was second beaten by a half-length. (9) Annascaul pressed the pace, had the lead, and finished a close fourth in an Aqueduct stakes race and will try a first-level allowance for the first time. (8) Running Rio was a debut turf winner at Santa Anita as a 2-year-old and this year was fourth on the synthetic and then third in Gulfstream Park allowances. (5) Miss Bourbon rallied from last to get second in her second start of the year.
11th race [Md 50000, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (11) Bourbon Milk Punch (D) was bet down from 9-1 to 5-1 in her first start for a new trainer. (10) Diamondinthesand cuts back in distance after her turf debut at Tampa Downs in April. (12) Virtual will make her first start of the year and drops in for a tag for the first time after a few good races last year in maiden special weights. (6) Uncommon ran twice in Florida this winter for the Clement barn and showed excellent speed last time to set the pace.
Best bets: Stirred Up (2nd); Bourbon Milk Punch (11th). Best Value: Toned Up (1st); Perugia (10th).
