3rd race [Clm 20000, 7F] – (3) Irish Jackson (B) was checked early in her last race back to last and rallied to get fourth. (6) Equus will make a bid drop in class down to the lowest level of her career for Linda Rice after being claimed for $50,000 at Churchill Downs in November. (7) Killy Start finished second the last time that she ran for a tag and that was for $25,000 at Saratoga. (2) Brzina was claimed from her last two races. Jamie Ness took her back for $20,000 when she just missed by a head in April.
4th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 1 mi] – (3) Material Girl was second in her last two races for Chad Brown in a maiden race in February and a state-bred stakes in December. (5) Eagle Rising was second the entire race in April going the mile distance when moving from turf to dirt. (4) Full Pour was third just a head behind Eagle Rising in her second start. (1) Farm House made three career starts this year and finished in the top three in all of them.
5th race [Clm 20000, 6 ½ F] – (2) Tetsu hit the board three times this year since getting claimed for $20,000 a year ago. (8) Kunshan Bridge came back from a seven month layoff to finish third in a $25,000 claimer. (3) Brew Pub finished in the top three a few times and was claimed twice since February. (4) Screaming Uncle was a winner three weeks ago for a $15,000 tag after pressing the pace.
6th race [OC 50k/N1X, 1 3/16 mi TURF] – With heavy rain recently in the NY area this race is handicapped assuming that it will be run on the main track. (5) Luna Moth (B) raced on the dirt last time and was second the entire race while well clear of the rest of the field. (3) Mystifying was a rare debut winner last year for Shug McGaughey at Gulfstream on the main track. (2) Midnight Concerto broke her maiden on the dirt at Aqueduct before winning through her NY-bred conditions on the grass. (1) Anileate is a past winner on the dirt earlier in her career.
Best bets: Material Girl (4th); Tetsu (5th). Best value: Irish Jackson (3rd); Luna Moth (6th).
