3rd race [NY, Md 50000, 6F] – (4) Pinky Brier has two starts in her career with a fourth in a tough Saratoga maiden in August at 7-2 and then a second at Aqueduct last month. (7) My Devine One will drop in for a tag for the first time and move from turf to dirt. Bill Mott has a 35% win number with first-time claimers like this. (6) Taparoo shipped up to Belmont for her final two works prior to her debut here for a good trainer with firsters. (5) Luciana’s Honor gets blinkers on and tries the dirt for a trainer whose barn is doing well since the move to the Big A.
5th race [Md Sp Wt, 1 mi] – (4) Credit History was second for Mott in his first start last month. (7) Paladin was a $1.9 million Saratoga yearling purchase who trained at Belmont since July for Chad Brown. (8) Gordy was third behind the top choice at 5-2 after running greenly. (5) Hedge Ratio will make his second start for Brown after a debut on the turf at 9-2 at Saratoga in August.
6th race [NY, Md 30000, 1 mi] – (2) Egyptian makes her first start in this maiden claimer for a trainer with 36% success making that move. (8) Lady Dragon tried the turf last time to no avail after good efforts on the dirt and cuts back to the one-turn mile. (1) Good Cop will drop into a claimer after his debut last month at 2-1 and gets blinkers on. (4) Curlin Contention ran an improved third last month going the mile.
8th race [Alw 88000 N1X, 6 ½ F] – (3) Notah was a front-end winner in his first start following a claim by Mike Maker and comes back after two weeks. (4) Ican was last seen running fourth in the Jimmy Winkfield at Aqueduct in March. He was also third in the Jerome. (2) On the Level returned last month after a debut in November to win on the front end at Delaware Park. (1) Cultivate won a $100,000 maiden claimer in his debut at Saratoga in August.
Best bets: Pinky Brier (3rd); Egyptian (6th). Best value: Credit History (5th); Notah (8th).
