th race [Matron (G3), 6F TURF] – (8) Royal Testament became a stakes winner at Colonial Downs last month with a speedy front-end effort. (6) Snow Face Princess won the Bolton Landing at Saratoga and then went to Kentucky Downs and was second in one of their $1 million races against a field of 11. (9) Believe in Magic was third in that race in Kentucky. (3) Just Philtored is undefeated in three starts with two wins in state-bred stakes at Colonial.
th race [Clm 16000, 6F] – (9) Master of Arms was claimed for $50,000 early in the year and since then was third in three allowance races. He comes back from a May layoff at this low level looking for a win. (3) Forgiving Spirit was claimed from her last three races and was just taken back by Linda Rice. He was a winner at Saratoga for $12,500. (5) Graywing comes back from a July break and drops back in for a tag for the first time when he was a winner at Aqueduct. (4) Manta Rey was claimed from his last two starts for $20,000 and then $25,000, will cut back to sprinting which is probably his best, and returns to the Big A where he thrives.
th race [OC 75k/C, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (7) Temple City Taboo (A) was last seen in July at Saratoga when she had to steady on the turn, moved outside belatedly, finished third, and was a voided $35,000 claim. (4) Avenue Niel drops in for a tag for the first time as an allowance winner at Colonial in July. (3) Immensitude was second in her last two starts in top-level allowances at Saratoga. (8) Grayosh missed by a neck in the Matchmaker (G3) at Monmouth Park.
th race [NY, Md 50000, 6F TURF] – (1) Garden of Grace drops in for a tag for the first time after three good runs in turf sprints for George Weaver against big fields. (11) Froghollowsummer set the pace last time and finished second. (2) Tahila goes into a claimer for the first time for Clement. (5) Five Dozen Roses made her first start on the grass in August and after a troubled start rallied from tenth and last to finish third.
Best bets: Master of Arms (6th); Garden of Grace (8th). Best value: Royal Testament (5th); Temple City Taboo (7th).
