5th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 6F TURF] – (3) Fancy Lights was well bet and ran well in her two starts running third and then second and returns in three weeks. (10) Raynham Hall improved a lot in her second start when she had the lead in the stretch and ended up in the place spot. (7) Scorch ran three times but only got on the turf once although that was the plan in all of her races. (9) Ticket to Ride had her best results with a pair of top three finishes in turf sprints.
7th race [Alw 50000s, 1 mi] – (5) Ranger Battalion (A) got shut off on the rail in the stretch, got moved up to third by disqualification, and comes back in three weeks. (3) Social Hour (C) was bet down from 4-1 to 5-2, had the lead under pressure, and finished third. (4) Dreamlike was claimed two races back for $50,000 when second and then stepped up to a starter allowance where he was moved up to second by disqualification while racing seven wide. (2) House United was second in his last three starts at today’s level.
8th race [Md 50000, 6F TURF] – (8) Repurpose debuted for Chad Brown at 5-1 in her debut at this claiming level and finished third at Saratoga in August and was not taken. (4) Snare had a pair of third-place finishes in turf sprint earlier in the summer and blinkers go on. (7) Suspiciously Named will cut back in distance and returns in two weeks after setting the pace going long. (2) Free Spin cuts back to sprinting as a new gelding and changes to the hot barn of Rick Dutrow while dropping in for a tag for the first time.
9th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (2) Getting Serious was third in her debut for Shug McGaughey with a late rally against a full field at Kentucky Downs. (3) Sharing Wisdom was third in her first start at Saratoga. (6) Perm is a home-bred with a pure European turf pedigree that will make her first start for Chad Brown and Peter Brant. (5) Candy Moonshine ran four times at Delaware Park and hit the board each time after showing early speed.
Best bets: Fancy Lights (5th); Ranger Battalion (7th). Best value: Repurpose (8th); Getting Serious (9th).
