rd race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 6F TURF] – (3) Lady Angelina (B) pressed the pace and finished third in her first start for Bill Mott whose young horses improve in their second starts. (9) Aperitif ran the race of her career when she was second in her most recent race at Saratoga. (4) No Ordinary Love had to steady in her last race but was second in July at the Spa. (7) Sassetti will cut back in distance to a sprint with a pair of thirds in her four starts.

th race [Clm 30000 N3L, 1 1/8 mi] – (1) Brave Bear ran the fastest race of his career when he won a N2L claimer going a mile following a brief layoff during the summer. (5) Leftembehind was claimed for $30,000 when he was second in August. (8) Frizzante similarly was taken for $30,000 after running second three weeks ago. (6) Who’s the King was claimed from his last two races for $17,500 after a win and then for $30,000 after setting the pace.

th race [Moc 75000C, 6F] – (7) Hong Kong Phooey (B) got off to a poor start in his debut and rallied from last to a close third for a trainer who rarely wins with first-time starters. (6) Neigh Baby missed a win by neck when he finished ahead of the Hot List horse three weeks after his first start. (8) Bod Beach finished second in his last three starts. (4) Fort Griffin pressed the pace in his first start at 5-1 at this level.

th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (5) A Little At First (A) got bumped twice to be last in a field of 10, rallied wide, and got to fifth. (2) Jack’s World debuted on the grass to finish fourth and then was second in a race that was meant for the turf two weeks ago. (11) Newlyn took a similar path as Jack’s World but was second in a different race two weeks ago on that same day. (9) Coach Ryan was sent off at 2-1 for his debut last month for Chad Brown.

Best bets: Hong Kong Phooey (5th); A Little At First (8th). Best value: Lady Angelina (3rd); Brave Bear (4th).
