1st race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 7F] – (5) Belloro broke slowly, rushed up to the lead, but then faded to finish second. (1) Ty Ty Rose moved from turf to a muddy, sealed track and showed improvement. Blinkers go on which is a positive move for trainer De Paz. (4) Probable Angle was third in her debut at 7-1 following fractious behavior at the gate. (6) Quinns Silent Roar had an extremely wide trip on a sloppy track at Saratoga three weeks ago. Blinkers go on.
3rd race [Clm 17500 N3L, 6F] – (6) Timaeus won for $25,000 in March at Aqueduct and drops back down to an appropriate claiming level after a few tries in starter allowances. (1) My Man Matty came back from an 18 month layoff and showed speed in a second-level allowance at 5-1 and is in for a tag for the first time. (8) King Moonracer made his last two starts at this claiming level. (7) Ace It changes barns and drops into a claimer for the first time.
4th race [Alw 50000s, 1 mi] – (1) Ranger Battalion caught two sloppy, sealed tracks at Saratoga with a win in a $100,000 claimer and then a close second in a starter allowance. (6) House United was second in his last two starts in similar starter allowances. (3) Dreamlike was claimed for $50,000 from a second-place finish by Linda Rice. (4) Register found wet tracks in his last five starts with a win and a second in starter allowances in that sequence.
8th race [NY, Alw 81000 N1X, 1 1/16 mi TURF] - (10) Annexperience had an almost eight length maiden victory in July at Saratoga but then had significant trouble at the break of an allowance that probably was a throw-out race. (7) Terminal Velocity had a front running maiden score in his second start with a front-end trip and then was second after having the lead again after moving up to allowance company. (6) Outtawaterbury moved back to state-bred competition and missed the win by a nose three weeks ago. (3) Iron Max won his last two starts moving from a maiden claiming score to an open company starter allowance both with closing trips.
Best bets: Belloro (1st); Timaeus (3rd). Best value: Ranger Battalion (4th); Annexperience (8th).
