th race [Md Sp Wt, 1 3/8 mi TURF] – (6) Inesperee (B) was rank under restraint, got taken up in the first turn, and finished second. (3) American Debutante has a pair of third-place finishes in turf maidens going long and should appreciate even more distance in here. (7) Abundant Love was second at this distance at Saratoga two races back. (1) Seger Songs was third at Colonial Downs last time going a mile and was beaten by only a half-length.

th race [NY, Joseph A. Gimma, 6F TURF] – (6) Saint Margaret (A) needed a late rally through traffic in her debut at Saratoga at 9-2 to finish third. (1) Arinata was a rare debut winner for Linda Rice whose young horses usually improve a great deal in their second starts. She rallied from seventh at 3-1. (3) Trading Trouble missed by a neck in her first start, then broke her maiden by two lengths at Saratoga, and last time tried an open-company stakes at Kentucky Downs. (2) Nacho Problem moved to the turf and got her maiden victory against open-company in an auction-price restricted condition. She was third in the Colleen at Monmouth Park and ran just three days ago at Woodbine in a stakes.

th race [NY, Alw 81000 N1X, 6F] – (4) Intentious broke last and then rallied for second on a speed favoring track. (3) Timia (C) was bet down from 9-1 to 7-1, chased a clear winner, and was second beaten by only a length. (8) Geopolitics finished in the top three in her first nine starts and last time in July lost all chance at the break when she went down to her nose. (7) I’m Kidding broke her maiden by more than seven lengths at Aqueduct in April and gets blinkers on now after having the lead and finished second in a Finger Lakes allowance.

th race [Clm 35000 N2L, 6F TURF] – (4) Insubordination (B) got forced inside during the stretch run, had to check, and lost all chance. (3) Cousin Ed broke his maiden for a $50,000 tag and then was third and second at this level. (9) Ready Set Twirl will cut back to a turf sprint after going long twice at Saratoga. (6) Derek’s Law was claimed in Kentucky by Linda Rice in June for $40,000 and will cut back in distance while trying the turf for the first time.

Best bets: Intentious (7th); Insubordination (9th). Best value: Inesperee (5th); Saint Margaret (6th).
