“I was very pleased with it,” trainer Cherie DeVaux said of the work in company with Double Entendre, a 3-year-old maiden. “It was a nice five-eighths — nice and relaxed.”

Owning a 4-2-0-2 record, Golden Tempo finished third in the Twinspires.com Louisiana Derby (G2) on March 21 in his most recent start. He returned to the work tab here April 3 with a half-mile in :48.40.

DeVaux said Golden Tempo is scheduled to have his two final works for the Kentucky Derby at Keeneland before heading 75 miles west to Churchill Downs. All Kentucky Derby runners have to be at Churchill Downs by 11 a.m. ET April 25.
