Juvenile Cheval de Guerre Supplemented to Keeneland April Sale

Auction is tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Keeneland has supplemented the 2-year-old Cheval de Guerre, a son of Caravaggio who was an eye-catching second on debut here yesterday, to tonight’s April Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET. Consigned by Kenneally Racing, agent, Cheval de Guerre will sell as Hip 135 from Barn 18.

The first foal out of Champagne Diet, a winning daughter of Declaration of War, Cheval de Guerre is from the family of multiple Grade 1 winners Winter Memories and Memories of Silver, Grade 2 winner Hawkish and Grade 3 winners La Cloche and Bellavais. He set swift fractions in his debut in yesterday’s second race going 5½ furlongs on the Keeneland turf course, leading until the shadow of the wire where he was caught by the closing Into Diamonds, beaten a neck. It was 1½ lengths back to the third-placed horse.
