Keeneland’s 83rd November Breeding Stock Sale will kick off Tuesday, Nov. 3 — three days after the track hosts the Breeders’ Cup World Championships for the fourth time — with 3,397 horses cataloged to nine sessions through Wednesday, Nov. 11. 

The catalog features accomplished broodmare prospects; proven mares in foal to leading stallions; and well-bred weanlings by prominent stallions and popular young sires and is available at catalog.keeneland.com. Horses in the catalog include the first mares in foal to Kentucky Derby (G1) Presented by Woodford Reserve winner Mystik Dan as well as champions Citizen Bull, Fierceness, Sierra Leone and Straight No Chaser. The catalog also has the first weanlings by Preakness (G1) winner Seize the Grey, Belmont (G1) winner Dornoch and champion National Treasure. 

In addition, the November Sale catalog has several dispersals, including the previously announced Complete Dispersal of Aaron and Marie Jones LLC of nine horses: five broodmares in foal to Candy Ride (ARG), Goal Oriented, Into Mischief and Tapit and four weanlings by Into Mischief, Nyquist and Tapit. Taylor Made Sales Agency will handle the consignment.

“In late October and early November, the connection between racing and sales really comes to life here with the Keeneland Championship Sale at Historic Castleton, the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, the November Breeding Stock Sale and the Horses of Racing Age Sale,” Keeneland President and CEO Shannon Arvin said. “There’s a real advantage to being both a race track and a sales company. The November Breeding Stock Sale will open with a single-day Book 1 with a select group of 258 broodmares, broodmare prospects and weanlings in the catalog. The session begins at 1 p.m. ET. Keeneland will accept select supplements to Book 1 until the auction starts.

Grade 1 winners and producers in the catalog

Also cataloged to the November Breeding Stock Sale are these Grade 1 winners and producers:

• Animal Appeal, dam of Grade 1 winner Usha in foal to Tiz the Law. Greenfield Farms, agent, is the consignor.
• Complicated, dam of Grade 1 winner Simply in Front and Grade 2 winner Honor D Lady in foal to Into Mischief. She is consigned by Heartwood Farm, agent for William B. Harrigan and Mike Pietrangelo.
• Expensive Queen (IRE), winner of the 2026 Jenny Wiley (G1) at Keeneland and nominated to the Oct. 3 First Lady (G1) here. Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, is the consignor.
• Kilwin, winner of the 2025 Test (G1) Presented by Ticketmaster at Saratoga who has earned $1.3 million. She is consigned by Royal Oak Farm, agent for BBN Racing and Rick Howard.
• Ma’am, dam of Kentucky Derby (G1) Presented by Woodford Reserve winner Mystik Dan in foal to Into Mischief. She is consigned by Gainesway, agent.
• Sheza Smoke Show, dam of Grade 1 winner Princess Noor in foal to Goal Oriented. She is consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent.
• Grade 1 winner and producer Sippican Harbor, who is in foal to Into Mischief, and her weanling colt by McKinzie. Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, consigns the two.
• Champion Super Corredora, winner of the 2025 NetJets Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) and the Zenyatta (G2) Presented by FanDuel on Sept. 27. She is consigned by Lane’s End, agent.

A group of 108 select weanlings by 35 individual sires are cataloged to Book 1. These include:

Catalog includes Starship Stables dispersal

The catalog includes 40 in-foal broodmares, racing or broodmare prospects and weanlings in the Dispersal of Laurence Leavy’s Starship Stables. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, the group includes mares in foal to Arthur’s Ride, Cody’s Wish, Cogburn, Forte, Goal Oriented, Golden Pal, Mindframe, National Treasure, Not This Time, Omaha Beach, Sierra Leone, Vekoma and Yaupon.

For Starship, Book 1 has cataloged these horses:

• Starship Bonita, an 11-year-old stakes-winning daughter of Gone Astray in foal to Not This Time. Out of the Honour and Glory mare Happy Honeymoon, she is a half-sister to stakes winner Surprise Wedding.
• Weanling colt by Into Mischief out of Starship Bonita.
• Starship Impulsive, a 4-year-old stakes winner by Improbable out of stakes winner K P Wildcat, by Include. She is offered as a racing or broodmare prospect.
• Starship Pegasus, a 4-year-old winning daughter of Uncle Mo who is a half-sister to Grade 1 winners Spirit of St Louis and Bar of Gold, a Grade 3 producer. Starship Pegasus is cataloged as a racing or broodmare prospect.

Elite sires in November

Broodmares cataloged to the November Breeding Stock Sale are in foal to 152 stallions, including Candy Ride (ARG), Constitution, Curlin, Flightline, Good Magic, Gun Runner, Into Mischief, Justify, Liam’s Map, Life Is Good, Not This Time, Nyquist, Omaha Beach, Practical Joke, Quality Road, Street Sense, Tapit, Twirling Candy, Vekoma and War Front. 

Joining the previously mentioned stallions with their first in-foal mares cataloged to the sale are Grade 1 winners Arthur’s Ride, Carl Spackler (IRE), Chancer McPatrick, Goal Oriented, Locked, Mullikin, Patch Adams and Raging Torrent.

The catalog includes the first weanlings by the previously mentioned Seize the Grey, Dornoch and National Treasure as well as such sires as Grade 1 winners Arabian Knight, Blazing Sevens, Bright Future, Casa Creed, Classic Causeway, Cogburn, Domestic Product, Gun Pilot, Kingsbarns, More Than Looks, Muth, National Treasure, Newgate, Prince of Monaco, Shirl’s Speight, Tapit Trice and Timberlake; and Grade 2 winner Charge It.

Weanlings become graded stakes winners

Weanlings who are graduates of the November Breeding Stock Sale include these horses who became 2026 graded stakes winners as of Sept. 29:

Grade 1 — Englishman (Woody Stephens S. Presented by Mohegan Sun and H. Allen Jerkens Memorial), Fully Subscribed(Personal Ensign and Shuvee-G2), Magnitude (Dubai World Cup Presented by Emirates Airline, Stephen Foster S. and Razorback-G3), Miss Monica (Del Mar Debutante), Nysos (Hill ‘N’ Dale Metropolitan) and So Happy (Santa Anita Derby and San Vicente-G2).

Grade 2 — Destino d’Oro (Pegasus World Cup Filly and Mare Turf Invitational Presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance and Hillsborough), Ole Crazy Bone (Bowling Green S. Presented by Emerald Ecovations) and Warming (Yellow Ribbon and Gallorette-G3).

Grade 3 — Alpyland (Penn Mile), Dakotah Blue (Ontario Colleen), Fantastical (Trillium Presented by Don Julio), Holmby(Sorrento) and Mashallah (Prioress).

Sale schedule

The catalog for the November Breeding Stock Sale includes 1,600 weanlings along with 1,797 broodmares and broodmare prospects; racing or broodmare prospects; and stallions and stallion prospects. The auction will present the following schedule:

Book 1 (Session 1) – Tuesday, Nov. 3. Session will begin at 1 p.m. with 258 horses in the catalog. 

Remaining sessions will start at 10 a.m.

Book 2 (Sessions 2-3) – Wednesday-Thursday, Nov. 4-5. A total of 840 horses are cataloged over the two days.

Book 3 (Sessions 4-5) – Friday-Saturday, Nov. 6-7. A total of 850 horses are cataloged over the two days.

Book 4 (Sessions 6-7) – Sunday-Monday, Nov. 8-9. A total of 837 horses are cataloged over the two days.

Book 5 (Sessions 8-9) — Tuesday-Wednesday, Nov. 10-11. A total of 612 horses are cataloged over the two days.

Print catalogs for the November Breeding Stock Sale are scheduled to arrive in the mail the week of Oct. 12. They also will be available in Keeneland’s Information Center beginning the afternoon of Oct. 12.
