1st race –  (5)  Don’t Even looks like a promising firster from Ward. (2) Gnome may be better suited by dirt. (8) Cielo could be a factor in his first try. (10) Fitzgerald is worth a look in this field. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-5-8-10.

3rd race –  (7) Rancho Santa Fe comes off a sharp debut win and gets the nod here. (8) Gloves Off may like a switch to dirt. (5) Infiltrate looked good in his first start and cannot be overlooked. (2) Vamos Ya is worth a look in this field. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-5-7-8.

5th race – (1) Nelson’s Penny was hurt by a wide trip and could move forward from the rail. (10) Triskelion rallied for second in her debut and looks like the main foe in this spot. (6) Belle of Liberty is an interesting first-timer from Sharp. (5) Lady Jancis is another firster who deserves attention. Betting strategy: 1 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-5-6-10.

7th race – (3) Valentinian was a good third last time and moves to turf. Seems overdue for a win. (6) Chapman’s Peak has a strong late kick and will be a top threat. (7) Warlander can also make his presence felt late. (5) Johny’s Rendezvous has speed and could be tough to catch here. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-5-6-7.

9th race – The Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1) - (2) Laurelin has won all five starts and can continue her winning ways. (9) Fionn is the one to fear after three straight wins. (5) Opulent Restraint fits in nicely with this group. (1) Lush Lips will benefit from a rail trip. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-2-5-9.
