Philip Griesenger (winning owner of winner A Fine Chardonnay)

“It’s just something unbelievable. My son Cole, my partner, is here with us today. She has been something that has given us such fun and joy. She’s been something special and it’s been a great ride. We hope it continues. It’s been a family affair, and she’s a little girl that can keep running. She’s awesome. It’s just been something we’ve done as a family forever, and Cole and I, we’ve just gathered ourselves, and it’s just been a special, special run. We just hope it continues to go. She’s home in Kentucky. She loves this surface, and she’s home and loves Keeneland.”

Cole Griesenger (son of Philip Griesenger)

“Keeneland is always special, so to win a race here, whether it’s a claimer or a stakes race, whatever, it’s the Ritz-Carlton, so it’s always good to do it. Not to get too emotional, but to do it with your dad — super special. Just to echo my dad, you saw the Winner’s Circle; it was packed with family and friends, so it’s always a great time to do it with family and friends.”

Ian Wilkes (winning trainer)

On returning to the winner’s circle for the first time since her win in the Dean Dorton Myrtlewood Stakes  at Keeneland last October

“Probably the race at Churchill (when she was third in the Fern Creek Stakes Nov. 29) was a little bit subpar for her, but then her first race back (when third in the Any Limit Stakes at Gulfstream Park March 14) was very good for her. I just wanted to knock the cobwebs off and have her ready for this race.  I got a little worried halfway down the lane. I thought she was going to hang on me. But then she finished off the race and I was very proud.”

Brian Hernandez Jr. (winning rider)

“(The way she came off the turn) is just a testament to (trainer) Ian (Wilkes) and the guys in the barn, the way they had her prepared for this race. I was more or less just a passenger today. I just gave her a good, clean trip and let her showcase her turn of foot when she turned for home. It looked like at the eighth pole (trainer) Brad (Cox’s) filly (Sneaky Good) was going to get the better of us, but our filly, she really turned it on that last sixteenth of a mile and widened on her from there.”

Flavien Prat (rider of runner-up and beaten favorite Sneaky Good)

“I had a great trip. I came to the inside, every chance. When my filly went to the inside, I thought I was going to be OK. I just couldn’t hold on to win.”

Brad Cox (trainer of Sneaky Good)

“We were never in a position that I thought we would be in. I thought we’d be a lot closer to the pace. We had a clean run down the lane and just didn’t get there.”

Joel Rosario (rider of third-place finisher Wrong Shoes)

“Great run. It looked like we got out easily and she (was) hanging there for a little while. Really nice. For a second there, I thought we were going to win. The other two fillies outran me at the end. That was a good effort from her.”
