2nd race [OC20k/SAL16k, 1 mi] – (5) Unlimitedpotential was a winner of a first-level allowance by more than two lengths at Aqueduct in June. (6) My Noble Knight won and optional claimer at Oaklawn Park in May and was second in a $20,000 starter allowance at Saratoga last month. (4) Margin of Air was claimed from 3 out of his last 4 starts with two wins in that sequence including last month at the Spa. (3) Pineapple Man was a front-end winner of a first-level NY-bred allowance during opening week of this meeting.
5th race [Clm 32000, 7F] – (3) Fromanothamutha (C) was bet down from 8-1 to 5-1, had the early lead, finished third, and got claimed for $25,000 at Saratoga. (2) Stolen Base and (2B) Breslau are both win contenders for Flying P Stable. (1A) Gun It was claimed two races back when he pressed the pace and won a $40,000 claimer at the Stars and Stripes Festival at this track in July. (7) Sagamore Michief was second by a neck in a second-level allowance at Aqueduct in May.
7th race [Clm 17500 N2L, 6 ½ F] – (8) Spirit of Esther (A) is a speed horse that stumbled and got bumped at the break and had to rally from fourth to finished second. (7) Melle Mel won a $50,000 maiden claimer at Gulfstream Park and has been going in much tougher races since then. She drops down to a winning level for a barn that vies for the owners’ title each year. (6) She’s Complicated won a $30,000 maiden claimer at Aqueduct in April and got claimed. She was then taken in her next start for $50,000 by Linda Rice who drops her in to look to add another victory. (3) Ragtime Sizzle got her maiden win for $20,000, was claimed, and she will also drop down to a more appropriate condition.
8th race [NY, Stallion Series, 1 mi TURF] – (6) Hangover Heaven was a debut winner running from last in a 10 horse field to win by five lengths in a turf sprint in the beginning of July. (8) Nonna Lynne broke her maiden in her second start of the year for Chad Brown. (1) Disco Star hit the board in three turf stakes including one against open company where she missed the win by less than a length. (3) Trail of Gold was an allowance winner two races back and then had a troubled trip last time.
Best bets: Unlimited Potential (2nd); Hangover Heaven (8th). Best value: Fromanothamutha (5th); Spirit of Esther (7th).
