1st race [Md Sp Wt, 6F] – (7) Waitin’onasunnyday (B) finished second in his debut after a stumble at the start behind a horse that came back to win the Skidmore and was well clear of the rest of the field. (2) Neigh Baby was third in his first start at 7-2 three weeks ago. (9) Jolted was fourth in his only race where he pressed the pace and gets blinkers on. (3) Imagine John was third three times in an open maiden special weight, the Sanford (G3), and an auction restricted maiden last month.
6th race [Md Sp Wt, 7F] – (3) Accost (A) was second in his debut behind an excellent 2-year-old and was more than two lengths ahead of the rest of the field. (1) Stradale (A) was sent off as an odds-on favorite in his first career start where he broke last, rushed up, got to second-place, but finished third. (6) Further Ado (B) was 2-1 for his first start but was unruly before the race started and finished fifth. (7) Souper Caliber (D) was bet down from 12-1 to 7-1 in his debut, was rank early, had to rally from far back, and finished fifth.
10th race [Flower Bowl (G2), 1 3/8 mi TURF] – (8) Bellezza (B) checked hard at the quarter pole in the Glens Falls (G2) and finished second. (4) La Mehana won her last two races in an allowance at Aqueduct in June and then the Glens Falls (G2) by almost nine lengths. (7) Be Your Best won the Gamely (G1) at Santa Anita in May and then was third in the Beverly D (G2) at Colonial Downs. (1) Marksman Queen won a pair of listed stakes for Graham Motion with front-end efforts.
11th race [Spinaway (G1), 7F] – (1) Ornellaia (A) went from last to first after an awkward start in her debut for Chad Brown at 9-2. (4) Mythical is undefeated in three races with a Gulfstream Park maiden race, a win against the boys in the Tremont, and then the Adirondack by a combined 15 lengths. (8) Tommy Jo was a first out winner in July at Saratoga by almost four lengths over a filly that won her next start. (5) Percy’s Bar won her two starts in a Keeneland maiden and then the Debutante at Churchill by a total of nine lengths.
Best bets: Waitin’onasunnyday (1st); Accost (6th). Best value: Bellezza (10th); Ornellaia (11th).
