th race [Clm 12500, 1 mi] – (4) Goldini makes a significant drop in class which includes his win for $32,000 on the dirt three races back. He was claimed by Rudy Rodrigues at Aqueduct for $8,000, so the move down makes sense. (3) Higher Quality gets a pass for his last start in a Grade 3 at Monmouth Park when his prior two starts yielded a second and a win for claiming prices of $16,000 and $10,000. (5) Sprinklehead used his early speed to win twice in Kentucky for $20,000 and $10,000 when he was claimed. He is projected to be on the lead again. (7) Hammerin Aamer was a winner for $16,000 at Aqueduct in the winter and was claimed for $20,000 in May. The 9-year-old has 13 career victories.

th race [Adirondack (G3), 6 ½ F] – (2) Magic Cross (A) was an open length winner of her debut at Belmont Park in July for Bill Mott. (10) Becky’s Joker was the long shot winner of her first career start in the Schuylerville (G3) by more than three lengths. (3) Here U Come Again won her debut at Ellis Park for Brad Cox earning a very high speed figure for a 2-year-old filly. (9) Copper Em also had an excellent first race victory in Kentucky winning by more than four lengths for Steve Asmussen.

th race [Alw 50000s, 1 3/8 mi TURF] – (1) Dontmesswithtess (B) rallied from the back, got the lead, was overtaken nearing the wire, but finished well ahead of the rest of the field. (4) Pentagon comes to this spot following a second and a third in allowances at Monmouth. (2) Can’t Fool Me will make her first start of the year and was last seen winning a maiden special weight. Trainer is strong with horses coming back from a long layoff. (7) Strand of Gold comes back from a maiden win at Gulfstream Park and has been training at Saratoga.

th race [NY, Md 40000, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (2) Stow On the Wold drops into a maiden claimer for the first time following good efforts in special weights. (3) Forward Move was third in his debut for George Weaver as the favorite and now drops in for a tag and goes from a sprint to a route. (8) Myles was second at this level in May which was his best finish and best speed figure. (11) Fast Study had the lead in the stretch last time and got caught. Blinkers go back on.

Best bets: Dontmesswithtess (9th); Stow On the Wold (10th). Best value: Goldini (5th); Magic Cross (8th).
