1st race [NY, Md 30000, 6F] – (5) Lady Delilah drops out of several maiden special weights for the first time with a fourth in one of her races this year. (4) Posse Rocks had a second and a fourth at this level to start her career and then tried an open-company allowance at Finger Lakes. (3) Good Mission has six top three finishes in a row with the last two for a $50,000 tag. (7) Five Dozen Roses showed speed in her second start and had the lead for half of the race.
3rd race [Alw 50000s, 1 1/8 mi] – (4) Ranger Battalion won his last two starts including a $50,000 maiden claimer from which he was taken and then a $100,000 claiming race on Saturday at Saratoga. (2) Houlton won a $40,000 claimer in April and was second in a spot similar to this one last month. (7) Tizmarkus won a N2L race at Churchill Downs in May and was claimed for $50,000 and then set the pace in a starter allowance to be third. (1) Blown Cover hit the board in his last three starts and was claimed for $30,000 in May.
4th race [Md Sp Wt, 1 3/8 mi TURF] – (4) Inesperee (B) was rank under restraint, got bumped by the winner, and finished third. (8) Mendee set the pace and led almost the whole race last time in a long-distance turf maiden like this and hit the board in her last five starts. (3) Lady Meis was fourth in that same race behind the top two choices. (1) Dimensionality is in career best form since moving on to the turf at Tampa Downs in May.
8th race [Shuvee (G2), 1 1/8 mi] – (5) Raging Sea has career earnings of $2.2 million and top three finishes from 12 out of 15 starts with eight victories and multiple Grade 1s. (6) Dazzling Move was second the Ogden Phipps (G1) at Saratoga in June last time ahead of Raging Sea. (7) Malibu Beauty won her last two starts including the Obeah at Delaware Park. (3) Leslie’s Rose has been racing almost exclusively in Grade 1 competition where she won the Ashland last year.
Best bets: Ranger Battalion (3rd); Raging Sea (8th). Best value: Lady Delilah (1st); Inesperee (4th).
