6th race [NY, Alw 95000 N1X, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (5) Sail With the Wind (C) was bet down from 9-1 to 6-1 and finished third behind a front-end winner. (8) North End Lady returned to his New York barn and appears to be rounding into top form with a third at this level three weeks ago. (4) Tongue Twister had a win and a pair of seconds during the Spring. (1) Roagna came back from a winter layoff and showed some speed at this level last month.

10th race [Jim Dandy (G2), 1 1/8 mi] – (5) Sovereignty makes his first start after his wins in the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont Stakes to use the Jim Dandy (G2) to prepare for the Travers (G1) in August. (1) Baeza has only a maiden victory but ran third behind Journalism and Sovereignty in the Derby and the Belmont. (3) Mo Plex has a chance to get loose on the lead. The NY-bred won the Bay Shore and Ohio Derby (G3) in his last two races. (2) Sandman used his deep closing style to become a $1 million earner with a third in the Preakness (G1) and a win in the Arkansas Derby (G1).

11th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (4) Tahila (A) returned from a winter layoff last month, had to check early in the race and lost four lengths but finished fourth. (9) Hello Beauty ships up from Kentucky where she had two third-place finishes at Churchill Downs. (6) Nonna Lynne came back from a nine month layoff and just missed the win by a neck at the June Saratoga meeting. (3) Off Script will move from dirt to turf in her second race of the year and changes from the Chad Brown barn to that of Will Walden.

12th race [Md 50000 N1X, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (10) Hedge the Risk (B) returned from a year layoff, had to check between horses, and got to third in his first try on the grass. (8) Majorca changes from Todd Pletcher to make his first start for Joe Sharp with the blinkers going on. (7) Fateful Lightning ran the best speed figure of his career last time at Aqueduct. (9) Battle Drum was second in his last two starts when he first tried this claiming level. Blinkers go on.

Best bets:  Sovereignty (10th); Hedge the Risk (12th). Best value:  Sail With the Wind (6th); Tahila (11th).
