3rd race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 5½ F TURF] – (4) Miss Im Pulsive (A) set the pace and finished second in her debut at 5-1 well clear of the rest of the field. (5) Three Nines Fine was entered for the turf in April following a three-month layoff but ran on a good, sealed main track at Aqueduct where she pressed a very fast early pace. (11) Just Add Water was 8-1 in her debut last month, broke slowly, rallied to second, and faded a bit down the stretch. (10) Willful Mama had a pair of place finishes in the fall on the grass and ran well on the main track during the winter.
6th race [NY, Bouwerie, 7F] – (2) Bernieandtherose won her last four starts including two NY-bred stakes at the end of the winter while pressing the pace or closing from a stalking position. (5) Accelerating won her first two starts at Saratoga last summer with a NY-bred stakes victory and then faced open company twice at Oaklawn Park. (1) Storm Changer won her debut in November and then moved into state-bred stakes where she won a Stallion Series race in April at Aqueduct. (7) Kay Cup was third in her Saratoga debut and came back to win easily at the Big A in April as the odds-on favorite.
9th race [NY, Mt. Vernon, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (5) Awesome Czech (B) finished second by a neck in his 2025 debut with a late rally and finished well clear of the show horse. (10) Whatlovelookslike (D) was bet down from 9-1 to 7-1 and gets back to NY-bred company after four starts in graded stakes races at Gulfstream Park and Aqueduct. (9) Brocknardini won at first asking at Saratoga in August and then ran in open company stakes with a win in the Selima at Laurel Park. She had a pair of seconds against NY-breds including a stakes. (2) Spinning Colors showed plenty of early speed in four starts against open company with three at Gulfstream. Last summer she was a winner at Saratoga.
10th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (4) Coach Case (B) was mid-pack early in his debut as the even money favorite and finished second in a full field three lengths ahead of the rest of the others. (5) Spirit of the Law moves back to state-bred racing after a pair of top three finishes at Gulfstream on the synthetic track. (2) English Castle returned from a six-month layoff to set the pace and crossed the finish line in second at 9-5. (10) Mission Hill moves to a new barn and comes back from a pair of top three finishes on the grass in June.
Best bets: Bernieandtherose (6th); Coach Case (10th). Best value: Miss Im Pulsive (3rd); Awesome Czech (9th).
