nd race [Md Sp Wt, 7F] – (1) Numbered (A) made her debut last month where she broke slowly as part of a rough start, climbed from heavy kickback on a sloppy track, and got third as the even-money favorite. Blinkers go on. (7) Cara’s Chianti was fifth in her only start on that sloppy and sealed track after pressing the early pace. (6) Surprise was sent off at 4-1 in her first race at Keeneland and should move forward with experience gained for Brad Cox. (3) Filly Freedom will debut for Chad Brown with a smart work tab in Florida and at Monmouth Park.

th race [OC 50k/ N1X, 1 1/8 mi] – (10) Seeking Unity won a second-level allowance at Aqueduct last month and comes back now in this first-level allowance by exercising the $50,000 claiming option. (6) Strategic Focus was a debut winner as part of an odds-on Chad Brown entry. (2) Malarchuk came back from a layoff to finish third and then second on wet, sealed tracks at the Big A. Blinkers go on. (5) Waitlist was second in his last two races at this level.

th race [Md Sp Wt, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (3) Bobby Bob (B) tossed his head at the break, steadied, and got shuffled back to last. He returns as a new gelding. (11) Kulapat made significant improvement when he moved from dirt to turf and finished third for Bill Mott. (1) Asbury Park made one start last year in August at Saratoga as the favorite and comes back with first-time Lasix. (7) Inwood Drive will make his first career start for Bill Mott and was picked by Junior Alvarado over his experienced stablemate.

th race [Ogden Phipps (G1), 1 1/8 mi] – (3) Leslie’s Rose (A) rallied on a speed favoring track to be part of a blanket finish where she was third just a neck behind the winner in a Grade 3 sprint. (4) Raging Sea won 7 of her last 9 starts and six of the victories were in graded stakes. She has $2.1 million in earnings. (5) Candied ran her best career race while winning a stakes on Preakness weekend. (7) Randomized won this race last year and was third after setting the pace in her only start of this year in the LaTroienne (G1) at Churchill Downs.

Best bets: Numbered (2nd); Leslie’s Rose (9th). Best value: Seeking Unity (5th); Bobby Bob (8th).
