Tuesday’s eighth session of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale marked another day of robust activity, led by a 23.35% jump in total sales to $30,215,000, a 14.63% increase in the average price to $101,374 and a 7.14% rise in the median to $75,000. Topping the action was a colt by Yaupon who sold for $850,000 to Donato Lanni, agent for Frank Fletcher and Jackpot Farm.

On Tuesday, Keeneland sold 297 yearlings through the ring. During the eighth session in 2025, 276 horses sold for $24,495,000 with an average of $88,750 and a median of $70,000.

With four sessions remaining, a total of 1,732 yearlings have sold through the ring for $493,195,500, which is 4.44% higher than the corresponding period last year when 1,771 horses brought $472,224,000. Average price of $284,755 is 6.79% above $266,643 in 2025 and the median of $185,000 is 2.78% higher than $180,000 last year.

Glennwood Farm, agent, consigned the $850,000 colt, who is from the family of Grade 1 winner and sire Mo Town; Grade 3 winner Molto Vita; and stakes winners Jaguar Paw, Venetian Mask, Justique and West Memorial.

In other sales today, 

Yaupon is the sire of a filly sold to By Talla Racing for $500,000. Consigned by Hermitage Farm, agent, she is out of stakes winner Jan’s Perfect Star, by Imperialism, and is a half-sister to stakes winner Road Bloc. The filly is from the family of Grade 3 winner Chips All In and stakes winners Quality Exchange, Basic Exchange, Ideal Change, Cauy, Kelly’s Humor, We B Three, Maria’s Mirage, Honeycomb Allie and Gato Go Win.

Go Go Greys and Delta Squad paid $475,000 for a colt by Liam’s Map. Consigned by Nicky Drion Thoroughbreds, agent, he is the first foal out of Sense Now, by Street Sense. The colt is from the family of Canadian Horse of the Year Soaring Free and stakes winner Smartyfly.

Talla Racing acquired a filly by Life Is Good consigned by Four Star Sales, agent for D.C. Goff, for $350,000. Out of Motown Girl, by Uncle Mo, she is from the family of champion Afleet Alex and Grade 3 winners Name Changer, How Did He Do That and Seabhac.

Two horses sold for $325,000 each.

Warwick Equine Agt, Hyteck Racing spent the amount on a filly by Tiz the Law who is a half-sister to stakes winner Not This Boy. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, she is out of the winning Super Saver mare Jeana Baby and from the family Grade 3 winner Adhocracy and stakes winners Golden Par, Dixieland Dream, Art Sebal, Revolutionary Act, Night Party, American Act, Speak Logistics, Megalith and Maldives Model.

Taylor Made Sales Agency led all consignors Tuesday, selling 37 yearlings for $2,986,000,

A colt by Cairo Prince who is a half-brother to stakes winner Kale’s Angel sold to Joe Migliore, agent for M. Clement, for $325,000. Consigned by Airdrie Stud Raised and Offered, he is out of the Malibu Moon mare Love Affair and from the family of Grade 3 winners Thatlookonyourface and Dark Nile along with stakes winners Ready to Repeat, Descapate, Souper Diva, Highland Park, All About Style, Tres Coronas and Windy Forecast. 

Kenneth McPeek, agent, was the session’s leading buyer, spending $925,000 on six horses.
