The top four finishers in Friday’s UK HealthCare Transylvania (G3), who were separated by a length at the wire, could meet again in Louisville on May 2 in the $1 million American Turf (G1).
Trainer Cherie DeVaux reported that C R K Stable’s undefeated Remember Mamba exited his latest victory in good order and she and the owners would consider the race.
Legion Racing and Awestrike Racing’s Honey Dutch finished second a half-length in back of Remember Mamba. Trainer Whit Beckman said, “the American Turf is definitely on the radar for him.”
JDT Racing’s Vasy (IRE), a neck back of Honey Dutch in third, “is fine this morning,” trainer Brendan Walsh said. “We’ll see (about the American Turf).”
Midway Racing’s Street Beast, who set the pace before yielding late, was transported back to trainer Ben Colebrook’s barn by equine ambulance after finishing fourth.
“He had a little cut on his hind leg and there was a little blood,” Colebrook said. “He’s A-OK this morning and the American Turf is a possibility.”
