Princesse Lele Brings $750,000 At January Sale

Princesse Lele, a 2-year-old filly by Quality Road out of Grade 1 winner and millionaire Carina Mia, by Malibu Moon, sold to Three Chimneys Farm for $750,000 on Tuesday’s first day of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale.

Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency, agent, consigned the filly, whose family includes Group/Grade 1 winner Miss Match (ARG) and Grade 1 winner Miss Linda (ARG).

Haunted Heroine, whose son Law Professor won the Dec. 26 Santa Anita Mathis Mile (G2), sold for $420,000 to Andrew Warren on Tuesday’s first day of Keeneland’s January Horses of All Ages Sale.

A half-sister to Grade 1 winner and millionaire Celestine, Haunted Heroine is an 11-year-old stakes-winning daughter of Ghostzapper. She was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent. Justly, a yearling filly by Triple Crown winner Justify who is out of champion Take Charge Brandi, sold to Three Chimneys Farm for $410,000 on Tuesday’s first day of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale.

Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency, agent, consigned Justly, who is a half-sister to recent stakes winner Courvoisier.

From the family of Grade 1 winner and millionaire Omaha Beach, Justly descends from Broodmare of the Year Take Charge Lady, dam of champion and sire Will Take Charge, Grade 1 winner and sire Take Charge Indy and recent Grade 3 winner As Time Goes By.

Due to the winter storm and hazardous travel conditions in Kentucky last Thursday and Friday, Keeneland moved the start of the sale from Monday, Jan. 10 to today. The four-day auction will run through Friday.
