Virginia Joy (GER) Headlines Nominations For Rood & Riddle Dowager

Peter Brant’s Virginia Joy (GER), front-running winner of the Flower Bowl (G2) at Saratoga in her most recent start, tops a roster of 20 fillies and mares nominated to the 31^st running of the $300,000 Rood & Riddle Dowager (G3) to be run Sunday, Oct. 23 going 1 ½ miles over the turf.

Trained by Chad Brown, Virginia Joy has won three of five starts in 2022 with her other victories coming in The Very One (G3) at Gulfstream Park and the Sheepshead Bay (G2) at Belmont Park.

Also among the nominees is Godolphin’s Adventuring. Trained by Brad Cox, Adventuring is unbeaten in two starts in 2022 with her most recent victory coming in the AGS Ladies Marathon (G3) at Kentucky Downs going 1 5/16 miles on Sept. 13.
