Nearly born on Kentucky Derby day, Louisville native Ashley Anderson grew up celebrating the First Saturday in May and watching the races with a family full of lifelong horseplayers. A former editor with Bleacher Report, she has worked in sports and horse racing for more than a decade and joined Churchill Downs in 2019 as a writer, editor, and handicapper for Brisnet and TwinSpires. Her favorite horses are Zenyatta, I’ll Have Another, and Nest, and her favorite Derby memory is meeting Bill Belichick and Cyndi Lauper in 2012, the same year she won big with I’ll Have Another — what a lucky day!
