Kyle Hampton

Kyle Hampton is a graduate of the University of Louisville's Equine Business Program. With years of hands-on experience in the horse racing industry, Kyle provides expert picks on behalf of TwinSpires and Brisnet. A former jockey agent, Kyle represented jockeys across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana's racing circuits, and during this time, he also worked for Fox Sports/America’s Day at the Races, enhancing his knowledge and exposure to the sport.

As the Founding Partner of Trifecta Thoroughbreds, a racing syndicate that specializes in purchasing yearlings at the Keeneland September Sale, he oversees their horses trained by John A. Hancock.

Currently, Kyle serves as the CRM Coordinator at TwinSpires, where he plays a key role in developing and executing targeted promotional campaigns designed to create personalized and premium experiences for horseplayers of all levels.

5th Race

The $3 Turf Pick 3 starts in Race 5, and we will go four deep to kick off the sequence.

Race 5: 9, 10, 11, 12

This is a wide-open field of three-year-old fillies who have not won a graded stakes on the turf, with several horses coming out of Kentucky Downs. #11 Cadenza for Brad Cox should have a better showing in this spot. I am drawing a line through her Kentucky Downs race, and she should be able to sit right off the pace with a decent amount of speed signed on.

Race 8: 1, 2, 3

The Grade 2 Jessamine Stakes for two-year-old fillies is the middle leg of the sequence.

I am using two horses coming out of the PG Johnson Stakes at Saratoga, but I will be focusing heavily on #2 Mel Went Home for Robbie Medina. She is still a maiden but nearly pulled off the win in the PG Johnson, getting run down inside the sixteenth pole after doing much of the dirty work on the front end. It is not uncommon to see Medina in the Keeneland winner's circle with a price horse, and I think Mel Went Home is worth including here.

Race 10: 9, 11

The nightcap is a first-level allowance for three-year-olds and up.

Both #9 Lazlo for Mike Maker and #11 Doctrine for Brad Cox are coming out of the same race at Kentucky Downs. Both should benefit from cutting back an eighth of a mile, and I will use both to close out the Pick 3.
