Parking FAQ - Spring 2024

Why is parking different at Keeneland this Spring?

Parking has changed slightly this year due to construction of the new Paddock Building. To ensure a smooth entry and exit process for all patrons visiting Keeneland, we have adjusted our parking operations.

Is there free parking?

Yes! As in years past, we have ample free parking spaces available on The Hill and The Meadow every day, with complimentary shuttling.

How can I purchase a parking permit?

If you would like to pre-purchase parking, you are welcome to purchase a permit here. These spots are available for purchase on a first-come, first-serve basis until sold out.  To ensure a spot, we encourage you to purchase online in advance.

Where is handicap parking?

Complimentary handicap parking is located in Rows 21-25.  No reservation or permit is required for handicap parking and all spaces are located in the paved lot. Complimentary golf cart shuttles from the parking lot to the South Grandstand Entrance are available. Enter Gate 1 to access.

What are The Meadow and The Hill?

The Meadow is the grassy area adjacent to the Bus Lot that many of our patrons have parked in previously, just a short walk past the paved parking area. The Hill is Keeneland’s official tailgate lot located near the Entertainment Center. Both areas have complimentary shuttles to our new Shuttle Depot, with drop off located at the walking path to the North or South Grandstand Entrances.

Parking in the paved lots prior to 10 a.m. from Wednesday through Sunday will remain free. If you’re visiting in the mornings for Sunrise Trackside, morning works, tours or to visit The Keeneland Shop you will be directed to park in the lower rows of the paved Green Lot. Vehicles must be moved by 10:30 a.m. Overflow parking will be located in The Meadow.

If you’ve purchased a race day parking permit and you arrive prior to 10 a.m., you may keep your car in the Green Lot the entire day .

Can I park at the Track Kitchen?

Due to the construction footprint, most parking around the Track Kitchen will be limited to horsemen and barn staff. For those coming to the eat at the Track Kitchen, there are limited parking spots available to the public directly in front of the building.

How will parking operate on Derby Day at Keeneland?

Parking for Derby Day at Keeneland will not require a permit for any lot, including paved parking. Handicap parking is available and will not require a reservation. Complimentary shuttles from the parking lot will be available.
