Executive Chef and Managing Director of Keeneland Hospitality
Noted Southern California chef Marc Therrien is the Executive Chef and Managing Director of Keeneland Hospitality. With more than 25 years of culinary experience, Chef Marc believes in simple food with good technique while using locally sourced product.
Marc Therrien, who has more than 25 years of culinary experience from coast to coast, joined Keeneland as Executive Chef and Managing Director of Keeneland Hospitality in May 2019.
Prior to joining Keeneland Hospitality in 2016, Chef Marc oversaw food and beverage operations as executive chef at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, and also managed the culinary programs at the resort’s Chopra Center for Wellbeing. During his tenure, the La Costa received its first Silver Certificate for Green Seal, a sustainability certification for hotels and restaurants.
Chef Marc is on the Board of Directors of God’s Pantry Food Bank, which receives excess food from Keeneland’s dining operations during race meets to benefit charitable organizations in Central Kentucky.
He is married to Tera Gehrig, and has a daughter, Ariel Therrien.
