The global design firm served as lead architect for the Paddock Building, shaping its overall architecture, vision and flow. With extensive experience in world-class equestrian facilities, racetracks and immersive entertainment venues, Populous integrated Keeneland’s traditions and aesthetic with the safety and priority of the horse throughout the design. The firm has also led major projects at iconic racing venues Churchill Downs and Belmont Park.

The Lexington-based interior designer crafted the interior spaces with timeless Southern elegance, blending tradition with contemporary hospitality. Named one of Veranda’s “Next Legends” in 2021, Carter’s work has been featured in House Beautiful, Veranda, Traditional Home, C Magazine, Southern Living and The New York Times.
