Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1)

Presented by Dixiana

A historic cornerstone of Thoroughbred breeding in Kentucky, Dixiana Farm has been part of the fabric of Kentucky’s Thoroughbred industry since 1877. Once home to champions like Himyar and Domino, the farm continues to shape the breed under the stewardship of William and Donna Shively. Dixiana’s support of Keeneland racing began in 2009, starting with the Breeders’ Futurity, followed by the Elkhorn and Bourbon, before becoming the presenting sponsor of the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup in 2020, one of Keeneland’s premier turf races for 3-year-old fillies.

The race was inaugurated in 1984 to honor Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, who attended the races at Keeneland and presented the inaugural trophy during a private visit to Central Kentucky. Now a Grade 1 fixture of the Fall Meet, the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1) presented by Dixiana offers a stage for top-class turf fillies to shine.
