Resolute Racing Madison (G1)

Inaugurated at Keeneland in 2002, the Madison has established itself as one of the premier sprint races for older fillies and mares. The race is named for Madison County, the largest county in Kentucky’s Bluegrass region, which was established in 1786 and named for the future fourth President of the United States, James Madison.

Headquartered just outside of Lexington in Midway, Kentucky, Resolute Racing was established in 2023 by John Stewart as a Thoroughbred breeding and racing operation committed to cultivating excellence through elite bloodlines, sustainability, and long-term success in the sport. A lifelong racing fan turned owner-breeder and founder of MiddleGround Capital, Stewart purchased his first horse at the 2022 Keeneland September Yearling Sale and has since become an influential figure in the industry. Resolute Racing spans more than 1,000 acres, housing broodmares, yearlings and horses of racing age, including notable mares such as Goodnight Olive, Caravel and Didia.

In 2024, Resolute Racing became the official sponsor of the Madison, establishing the farm’s presence in top-level Thoroughbred racing and its commitment to supporting the sport at the highest levels.
