Sarah Sloan Reeves


Chief Legal Officer

In February 2026, Sarah Sloan Reeves became Keeneland’s Chief Legal Officer after more than 15 years advising the organization at Stoll Keenon Ogden (SKO), the only outside legal counsel Keeneland has engaged.

During her time at SKO, Reeves served as Keeneland’s Corporate Secretary and General Counsel since 2020 and supported the organization’s legal needs since joining the firm in 2009. She has acted as counsel to and Corporate Secretary of the Breeders’ Cup and the National Thoroughbred Racing Association while advising many of Keeneland’s horse farm partners around the world and maintaining an active estate planning practice.

Reeves has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® for her work in equine and commercial law and was previously named a "Rising Star" by Kentucky Super Lawyers®. She has also received “Lawyer of the Year” honors in her practice area, distinctions based on peer recognition.

Reeves taught middle- and high-school English before earning her degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Before joining SKO, she clerked for the Honorable Eugene E. Siler Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Reeves is a member of Christ Church Cathedral in Lexington, serving on the Vestry and as Senior Warden.

Sarah lives in Lexington with her husband, Adam, and their two children, Sloan and Jack.
