The Spinster is one of North America’s most important weight-for-age stakes races held exclusively for fillies and mares. The 1963 and 1969 renewals were run as betless races. Juddmonte Farms, a world-renown Thoroughbred operation with a farm in Lexington, began sponsoring the Spinster in 2005. The Juddmonte Spinster is Breeders' Cup Challenge "Win and You're In" race for the 2026 Breeders' Cup Distaff.
