A graduate of Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Scott has covered horse racing since 2004, first at HRTV and later with TVG. He has been part the broadcast team coverage of the Triple Crown, Dubai World Cup (G1) and Royal Ascot. His father Richard Hazelton won more than 4,700 races during a training career that spanned over 60 years.

#3 Noroomformischief has really found her correct level of companions over her last three races and it's evident by the fact that she's 12 of them and finished a close second in her most recent start at Churchill Downs. She's got a strong hand to play here in the first race of the meet for the fall here at Keeneland.

#1 National Eclipse is a horse that has dropped to lower levels in his last two races and responded with much better efforts. He moves to the barn of Trainer, Eddie Kenneally who claimed him last time out and Trainer Eddie Kenneally is winning it a 27% clip first off the claim which bode as well for this horse in race number two.

#4 Master Queen could get overlooked in this race based on connections but trainer Carlos Munoz is more than capable with 2 year old horses and when they’re good they typically have speed like this filly did on debut on dirt when she won by 9 1/4 lengths. She then tried the turf at KY Downs and was not as effective. Don’t worry about that last race. She should bounce back to her speedy ways today on the Keeneland dirt as she did in Virginia at Colonial Downs.

#7 Rules and Regs Is trying dirt for the first time versus a group of fillies that have not broken through with their first wins. Most others have had plenty of opportunities to get into the winner circle and in their defense on many occasions have hooked tough runners. But in this instance I’m willing to try a horse trying something new versus leaning on a horse that has had many chances on dirt and perhaps grown into the habit of defeat.

#2 La Puma comes into this race in great form and I think that she benefits from the distance just about as much if not more than any other horse in this race. But by no means is this an easy spot given the condition is for horses that have not won graded stakes race on turf. It really opens the door for some really nice horses as it sure has.

#8 National Forest ran a giant race on debut to finish second from a far outside post position. If he's anywhere near what he was on debut, he's gonna be ultra tough but the price will likely not be all that much but it is what it is here in race number six.

#3 Little Thunder is an up-and-coming sprinter who has gone through his conditions and finds himself in his first stakes test here today and I'm willing to take a shot with him given the fact that he was able to win up at Saratoga Jockey Johnny Velazquez stays with him and I think there's a good chance that his price could be solid here and if he wins, it'll be a while before we get a good price on him in a similar situation. Always trying to catch horses going up versus when they've reached the top of their form.

#5 Seneca Park is one of the leading 2 year olds for freshman stallion, Golden Pal’s, number one ranking in the freshman stallion race for 2026. She's two for two to start her career and she's one at Ellis Park and even at Kentucky Downs and we get a distance test here today but she's got distance pedigree on her mother side, but these races can always be tricky as you've got so many variables to consider with young horses coming from different locations. I really don't think there's a horse in here that you cannot make a case for

#5 Summer Starlet is the leading two year-old female on the East Coast/Midwest given her two romping performances at Saratoga this summer, including a Grade 1 victory in the Spinaway Stakes. She will be a clear favorite here today and she's got the pedigree on both sides of the token to suggest that the distance won't be a problem and even what's more encouraging is the way that she's one of those two starts settling from off the pace and getting better as the race has gone on so it doesn't look like the two turn test will be much of an issue for her toda

#10 Caragogo should be a pretty solid price here in this competitive race to close out opening day at Keeneland. He ran the best race of his career when asked to go the furthest distance of his career in his most recent start, which was a win at Kentucky Downs and now he'll be asked to go even further today but I think he's a contender that can make the lead and keep on going and should be a pretty decent price to wrap up.
