#1 Emirates Affair looks well spotted in here shipping in from Southern California having run a couple of times a little over her head but showing up for $16,000 for Trainer Bob Hess Jr who's had success bringing horses here to Keeneland, looks like she's trying to pick up her first win of the year and her 13th win overall.
2nd Race
7-5-2
#7 Sing for Mo Money was just purchased last month down in Ocala Florida for $110,000. She comes from a female family of two-year-old success and she's had a sharp couple of work since arriving here in Kentucky. And the price should be solid come post time.
3rd Race
2-8-12
#2 Gellhorn makes her second start this year and this is a horse who ran two solid races to start off her career and then tailed off in her third and final start of 2025. She raced almost 2 months ago and in that race she went a route of ground for the first time. She showed speed and then faded so the cut back in distance looks like it should be a positive for her.
4th Race
4-3-1
#4 Mo Work is one of the that gets my respect just based on the drop-down in class that he's taking. This is the lowest level of competition that he will have faced since he broke his maiden June of last year at Churchill Downs.
5th Race
1-3-5
#1 Maycocks Bay has been a pretty solid horse in his career, having running tough dirt stakes and allowance races. They tried them on the turf for the first time in his career in his most recent start back in February and he handled it quite well showing speed, and then just being beaten by a nose. Inside draws a plus and hopefully he's speedy again as he has been really throughout his career in route races and even sprint races.
6th Race
7-3-1
#7 Clairita has shown improvement in her last two starts, and I think she gets enough pace out in front of her to set up a late run for her in this event with Luis Saez in the saddle this afternoon.
7th Race
8-1-2
#8 Chapman’s Peak looks like he's going to appreciate the step up in distance that he takes today having run well at Keeneland and Kentucky Downs in longer distance races like this.
8th Race
1-5-8
#1 Trusty Rusty is another runner coming in from Southern California for Trainer Bob Hess Jr and this horse gets to run for a very big purse of $73,000. His race is in Southern California fit this level of competition to a T. Once again, a perfectly spotted horse on the card for Trainer Bob Hess Jr.
9th Race
10-3-1
#10 Sand Pipes get some nice class relief today coming out of four consecutive stakes attempts between Louisiana and New York. Definitely a fit versus this group of runners and that's all you can ask for when handicapping horses is making sure they fit the level of competition.
