Visit Keeneland on Saturday mornings during the race meet to experience the sunrise, sights and sounds of Sunrise Trackside at Keeneland. Coffee and light breakfast offerings will be available to enjoy at The Starting Gate concession stand while watching morning works.
Guests of all ages can learn more about the workings of Keeneland by joining a complimentary mini tour. Visit the Tours Podium located near the Paddock area for more information.
Children's Activities will take place from 8 – 10 a.m. underneath the grandstand. Activities include a visit with Keeneland’s mascot, Buckles, games, jockey silk photos, and more! From 8:30 - 9 a.m. families can pet a horse in the paddock and visit the track apron to watch the John Deere Tractor break as they groom the track between morning workouts.
On October 25, a special Halloween edition of Sunrise Trackside will take place featuring a visit from the Headless Horseman at 8:30 am. in the Paddock.
Sunrise Trackside is open to all, and tickets are not required to attend this event. Please review new parking information below for a seamless entry to the event. Your entry to Keeneland will continue to look different due to the construction of the new Paddock Building. To ensure a smooth entry and exit process for all patrons visiting Keeneland, we have adjusted our parking operations.
Patrons arriving before 10 a.m., Wednesday through Sunday to visit the Keeneland Shop, Tours, Morning Workouts and Sunrise Trackside, will be parked in the lower rows of the Green Lot. Vehicles must be moved by 10:30 a.m. or cars will be towed. Entry through Gate 1 (Man O' War).
Patrons who have purchased a Green Lot pass may have their ticket scanned to park in the upper rows of the Green Lot and remain there for the entire race day.
If the lower rows of the Green Lot fill up, patrons visiting the Keeneland Shop, Tours, Morning Workouts and Sunrise Trackside will be directed to the Meadow. If parking in the Meadow, patrons staying for the races may remain in their parking location for the entire race day.
The Bus Lot is available for tour companies or large groups that arrive in a vehicle that falls under one of the following categories: Charter Bus (40-55 passenger), School Buses, Stretch Limousines, Sprinter Vans (longer that 20’ in length), Mini Bus, Trolly. Vehicles may park in the Bus Lot until 10:30 a.m. at no charge. Groups that plan to park in the Bus Lot for the race day should purchase a Bus Lot pass. Permit parking for Green Lot and Bus Lot will be on sale August 19 at 9 a.m.
No, Sunrise Trackside is a free event open to the public and does NOT require a ticket. Guests will, however, be required to exit the event at 10 a.m. If you have a ticket to attend the race day, you will still be required to exit and re-enter at 11 a.m. This allows the Keeneland teams to prepare for the race day.
Morning workouts begin around 6 a.m. and conclude at 10 a.m. Sunrise Trackside activities (games, tours, concessions) do not begin until 8 a.m.
Trackside from 8 - 10 a.m. there will be Donuts, Sausage Biscuits, Fruit, Coffee, Milk, Juice, and Water available for purchase.
There are activities available for all ages. Mini tours are available starting from the Paddock with Keeneland’s knowledgeable tour guides and children’s activities will take place under the grandstand. Children’s activities include face painting, games, arts & crafts, photo ops and a meet & greet with the Kids Club mascot, Buckles.
From 8:30 - 9 a.m. patrons can pet a horse in the paddock and visit the track apron to watch the John Deere Tractor break as they groom the track between morning workouts.

The Track Kitchen is open from 5 a.m. – 5 p.m. With construction, there is limited parking available at the Track Kitchen for those eating there. If you choose to walk, please remember any car parked in the Green Lot without a pass will need to be moved at 10:30 a.m. or it will be subject to towing.

Yes! As in years past, we have ample free parking spaces available on The Hill and The Meadow every day, with complimentary shuttling. Free accessible parking is located in paved parking rows 21-25.
If you would like to pre-purchase parking, you are welcome to purchase a permit for the Green Lot or Bus Lot. These spots are available for purchase on a first-come, first-serve basis until sold out. To ensure a spot, we encourage you to purchase online in advance.
Complimentary accessible parking is located in Rows 21-25. No reservation or permit is required for accessible parking and all spaces are located in the semipaved lot. Complimentary golf cart shuttles from the parking lot to the South Entrance are available. Enter Gate 1 to access.
The Meadow is the grassy area adjacent to the Bus Lot that many of our patrons have parked in previously, just a short walk past the paved parking area. The Hill is Keeneland’s official tailgate lot located near the Entertainment Center. Both areas have complimentary shuttles to our Shuttle Depot.

To streamline the parking process, permit parking is strongly encouraged to be purchased online in advance to entering the grounds. There is no onsite purchasing. Pre-purchased parking has a 48-hour refund policy. Purchase permit parking here.
Parking in the paved lots prior to 10 a.m. from Wednesday through Sunday will remain free. If you’re visiting in the mornings for Sunrise Trackside, morning works, tours or to visit The Keeneland Shop you will be directed to park in the lower rows of the paved Green Lot. Vehicles must be moved by 10:30 a.m. Overflow parking will be located in The Meadow.
If you’ve purchased a race day parking permit and you arrive prior to 10 a.m., you may keep your car in the Green Lot the entire day .

Most parking around the Track Kitchen will be limited to horsemen and barn staff. For those coming to the eat at the Track Kitchen, there are limited parking spots available to the public directly in front of the building.
