A Stewards Inquiry was posted involving the stretch run and, in addition, an objection was lodged by the rider of second place #3 “Tommy Jo” (John Velazquez) alleging interference by the rider of the unofficial winner, #1 “Percy’s Bar” (Luan Machado) in the stretch. After reviewing the race replay and interviewing the riders, the stewards determined that #1 bore out into #3 leaving the 1/8 pole, causing #3 to steady sharply and lose momentum. For the interference, #1 was disqualified from first and placed second, behind #3.

After Race 6 at Keeneland, #2 Splash Master was transported back to the barn and evaluated by her attending veterinarian. She was transported to a local equine clinic and was diagnosed with a ruptured flexor tendon in her left hindlimb. In the best interest of the horse, connections elected to euthanize at the clinic. We offer our condolences to owner Roger Snow and trainer Grant Forster.
